Atlanta,  Georgia,  United States

Stevens & Wilkinson

As the Architect of Record, Stevens & Wilkinson provided architecture and engineering design services for the new College of Law Building at Georgia State University’s College of Law. The project was completed summer 2015.

Primary objectives for the project included supplying much needed classrooms and state-of-the-art learning space. The completed building features a three story public gathering space in the lobby; two-story active learning space on the fifth level; and a reading room on the sixth level over-looking the adjacent Woodruff Park.

Stevens & Wilkinson’s project team conceptualized and executed architecture and engineering to provide large assembly spaces, including a 230-seat moot courtroom auditorium; an international Arbitration Center; and a 200-seat conference center. Large classrooms and seminar rooms were designed to seat a variety of class sizes, including 25, 50, 80, and 90 seats.

The new college of law also features faculty and support offices; administrative suites; group study suites; a large faculty meeting hall; and a large reading room. The law library includes a high-density storage system and conference and library workrooms. Access control, turnstile systems and close circuit TV were engineered by Stevens & Wilkinson to provide security for the building. SmithGroup JRR served as Design Architect.
