Cumberland Alia Chair

Nominee
2006-07
Appealing contrasts mark the Alia chair. Plush, two-inch-thick cushions rest on a solid hardwood frame of double-dowel construction. A natural wood panel extends up the chair's back for a pleasing complement to the upholstery material. The rounded edges of seat and back harmonize with the crisp edges of the chair's frame and legs. Designed by Jordan Goldstein, AIA, and Shawn Littrell of Washington, DC. The design expresses their affinity for classic lines and exquisite materials. The Alia Chair reflects Cumberland's standards for high quality, beautifully designed modern American classics crafted with honest materials and delivered flawlessly and without attitude. Using Cumberland's breadth of material choices, interior design professionals have great freedom in altering the character of the Alia Chair.
