In collaboration, Shantell Martin and the Momentum design team worked together translating Martin’s drawings, thoughts and musings into 4 textiles designed to enliven and excite corporate interiors. The designs are unique yet unified by a connecting story; a series of conversations between the elements, places and internal questions of Shantell Martin’s life. Part autobiographical and part whimsy. The artwork of Shantell Martin is a meditation of lines; a language of characters, creatures and messages that invite her viewers to share a role in her creative process., Martin has created her own world that bridges fine art, commercial and the everyday experience — conversations, objects and places. Known for her drawing on anything in her orbit, Martin has amassed an impressive body of work and turned the art world upside down.

Shantell Martin’s artwork is massive. Often her pieces can be 20’, 40’, 60’ ft. wide and 8’ ft. tall. The process to capture her essence in upholstery with limited loom size took many trials, ultimately demanding modifications in weaving and design. No great upholstery is without trials. This collection is perfectly complete; construction, color and pattern. Momentum partnered with the industry’s most revered artisanal mill to assure a luxurious though performing outcome (50,000 DR). The three textiles are cotton blends, resulting in beautiful hand and saturated color. The fourth pattern, Today Here Now, is a Silica Print, a coated fabric in 100% silicone, for the most demanding environment (500,000 DR).
