The Prairie CollectionNatural Contours Inspire Elegance inA New Line of Hand-woven Wool and Silk RugsChicago ‚¬â€ The Prairie Collection, a new line of hand-knotted rugs, designed by Chicago-based artist and interior designer Marcia Weese of Weese+Design, is now available. The Midwestern prairie's natural contours inspired a series of elegant linear designs whose asymmetrical harmonies are a perfect complement to traditional and contemporary interiors. The collection features ten designs to choose from ‚¬â€ Ripple, Grain, Flora, Wind, Root, Rain, Pool, Net, Stem, Prairie ‚¬â€ in a select number of warm earth tones. Each wool rug is hand-carded, hand-spun, hand-dyed and hand-knotted on traditional wooden looms in Nepal by Tibetan weavers--some of the finest weavers in the world. The final product is of the highest quality ‚¬â€100% wool with silk accents at 100 knots per square inch. Because these rugs are handcrafted, slight variations in texture and color create a rich patina and depth. High lanolin content and long fibers in the wool makes these rugs extremely durable and stain resistant. The rugs of The Prairie Collection are woven to last many lifetimes.
