Interceramic began manufacturing high quality ceramic tile in Chihuahua, Mexico in 1979, introducing in the market a new, state-of-the-art technology called Monocottura. It currently has an installed capacity of 24 million square meters per year. This figure represents 35 times its initial capacity. This is possible through eight manufacturing complexes - seven located in Chihuahua, Mexico and one in Garland, Texas. In 1988, Interceramic Inc. was created. This subsidiary was set up to operate in Dallas, Texas, and became one of the most important centers of tile distribution in the United States and Canada.
