Upper East NY Residence

Best of 2020
Nominee
The remodel of a 3,800 sqft home with outstanding Upper East side city views. It was important for us to create one of kind spaces throughout the home by selecting unique materials and statement pieces. You are welcomed in the foyer with a modern chandelier with vertical tubular design in mixed metals of black and gold, above a modern center table. For contrast, bright art and the glow of a neon sign are appreciated as you walk in. The open layout of the space allows you to see into the dining and living room spaces and the city views. In the dining a back-lit wall paneling in wood returns into the ceiling, with a statement tubular chandelier hanging from it defining the dining area. As well as back-lit smoke mirrors and wood cladded columns with recessed led lighting were a design detail must. Being one of the first spaces you see when entering the home, selecting unique furniture like three-legged dining chairs and a dining table with an asymmetric base and smoke glass top, and a sideboard in wood with brass panel overlays complete the space. For the living space, the fireplace was designed as a conversation piece, with one of a kind bookmatched marble slabs with hints of plum and maroon, smoke mirror panels, led shelving and an oversized firebox with double burners was sure to leave a big impression. Architectural details like floating dropped ceilings with led lighting around, custom back-lit wall paneling and floating back-lit glass shelving were key designs for the family room where a bar cabinet was also incorporated into the Tv unit. In the office, grey is the main color, but it was balanced with accents of wood paneling, and pops of blue in the art and the floating desk countertop. Unique pieces like a three head wall sconce in black, an asymmetric stripes rug and a gold finish wood trunk side table bring some character. For the guest suite a simple modern paneling design with shelving and storage was made for the tv area to not take a away from the breath-taking view. Last but not least, the Master Suite the focus is on the ceiling design with led back-lit double floating ceiling and a custom bed and wall headboard with wood panels, upholstered paneling with brass inserts illuminated from the bottom.
