STARSYS Point-of-Care Cart

Gold Award
An extension of Intermetro Industries' STARSYS modular product line, the STARSYS Point-of-Care cart primarily fills the gap between a hospital's Pharmacy and the patient's bedside. Its compact mobile form factor is designed to integrate the technology components that are required to properly conduct electronic medication administration. The cart body's modular design accommodates interchangeable supply drawers, narcotic drawers and medication cassette and features vertically scalable storage capabilities that can also be tailored to fit many applications including charting, admissions and patient record access. The large polymer work surface, ambidextrous mouse surface and drawer box are easily cleaned and resistant to hospital cleaners. The height of the cart is adjustable via an electronic actuator to accommodate a wide range of user height, as well as seated or standing positions. Security of the cart's contents is ensured with an electronic access system. This security system allows users to access data, medications and supplies using several methods including pass code entry and proximity card reading. The cart also features a complete power solution. An innovative on-board power supply resides within the liquid-shedding, aluminum base. This unit provides power to an on-board computer, monitor and optional accessories, with a minimal recharge time. Power is stored via a safe and reliable Nickel-Metal-Hydride (NiMH) battery package. Recharging is accomplished by simply plugging the unit into a standard wall receptacle.
