Mendota Unified School District Master Plan

Nominee
BCA was selected in 2011 by the District to prepare the long-range master plan, which received approval from the Board of Trustees on June 13, 2012. BCA identified the need for a third elementary school along with a series of other short term and long term facilities goals to accommodate the current and projected growth in this central valley community. This plan, when implemented over the next decade, will guide the Mendota Unified School District’s facilities into the next 20 years with modernized, expanded, and new facilities to allow the great teaching staff to continue the work of educating students across the District.

Sustainability

Part of BCA’s challenge was to create a classroom that would meet the community goals and the goals of 21st century learning. A large part of the plan focuses on the outdoor garden which will be part of the curriculum. Students will learn how to grow their own food as part of the sustainable education program.
