Duo-Gard's Customized Bike Shelters Support Active Lifestyles. Twin enclosed bicycle shelters custom-engineered by Duo-Gard Industries were amont the amenities Ciena Corporation included for employees in its new research and development campus in Ottawa, Canada. The campus was designed by Pye and Richards Architects in Ottawa and Ciena's Project Architct, BHDP, in Cincinnati, Ohio. With clean contemporary styling, these Duo-Gard shelters are based on the company's Arlington model, featuring translucent curved roofs in 8mm batten multi-wall polycarbonate in opal. The material provides a high degree of diffuse daylight while minimizing glare and heat gain. Walls are glass. Framing is anodized aluminum. The 20-ft.x37-ft. shelters house 34 U-racks each, storing 68 bikes. Additional exterior racks are outside, allowing storage of 242 bikes.
