Notes

Major materials: acrylic formed tub shell, reinforced Tri-Fusion backing, wood frame, recycled ABS plastic pan, custom-designed synthetic skirting, high performance 56 frame pumps, polished chrome escutcheons and full-foam insulation. The J-400™ Collection is fabricated in an ISO 9001 certified plant. The design challenge was to create a spa that wasn't so flat or cube-like; the goal was to create hot tubs that broke out of the stereotypical “box”. The Jacuzzi Product Design Team was faced with creating a spa with an asymmetrical sculpture-like appearance, with the ultimate in aesthetics that would appeal to higher-end luxury hot tub buyers. Performance, jet function and reliability were also factors. Mass-producing a hot tub with this type of asymmetric top had never been done successfully, due to production limitations.
