The Aculux 3 ¼-inch LED luminaires with black body dimming and tunable white technology now provide commercial and residential lighting designers and specifiers with the ability to emulate the warmth of halogen dimming, commission an exact color temperature post-installation to enhance interior finishes and art, or enable dynamic changing of color temperature to support different moods/space functions throughout the day.The foundation of these luminaires’ performance rests on an advanced multi-channel light engine coupled with a proprietary optical system. The patent-pending optical system provides in-beam color uniformity and precise beam control. Optimized center beam optics maximize light output when an LED optic is aimed off nadir, maintaining quiet apertures and eliminating glare at any aiming angle. In black body dimming mode, the Aculux 3 ¼-inch LED luminaires warm from 3000K at 100 percent output to 1800K at 1 percent output, mirroring the look of halogen dimming. The black body dimming in the Aculux 3 ¼-inch LED luminaires follows the black body locus within a 2-step MacAdam ellipse throughout the entire dimming range for exceptional fixture-to-fixture consistency. In tunable white mode, users are able to adjust the color temperature between 4350K and 2000K, independent of dimming, to enhance the attributes of artwork and interior finishes or dynamically change the color temperature throughout the day to support circadian lighting with blue rich light for alertness during the day and warm red rich relaxing light during the late afternoon and evening. With a standard 0-10 volt dimming protocol, users can dynamically control and modify the color temperature to deliver the desired color rendering for an application.

Sustainability

In black body dimming mode, these luminaires warm from 3000K at 100 percent output to 1800K at 1 percent output, perfectly mimicking the appearance of halogen dimming while consuming just one-fourth the energy and lasting about 15 times longer.
