Carnegie’s New Shape Shift Upholstery Collection Explores the Power of Pattern

Carnegie is pleased to introduce its newest upholstery line, the Shape Shift Collection, which was created with performance and versatility top of mind. This line of multi-colored patterns and textures reference the structured geometries of architecture and tailored menswear, creating a collection that is both sophisticated and playful, soft and edgy. The Shape Shift Collection comprises nine new patterns: Jigsaw, Lexicon, Meraki Stripe, Prismatic, Orenda Plaid, Acapella, Pinwheel, Shoreline, and Zest.

The Shape Shift Collection is for ever-changing, high-traffic environments that require a multitude of application capabilities and meet tough cleanability and sustainability standards. As such, all patterns, with the exception of Orenda Plaid, are bleach cleanable and woven in the USA. This collection also expands Carnegie’s indoor/outdoor upholstery offerings with the introduction of Shoreline, Zest, and Pinwheel—which are made of 100 percent Bella-Dura solution-dyed polypropylene yarns that utilize a low energy and water consumption manufacturing process within a closed loop.

Jigsaw
Jigsaw is a high-performance pattern inspired by angled architectural facades with six dynamic color combinations that exaggerate a playful simplicity. Reflecting a focus on responsible design, Jigsaw is made up of 74 percent post-consumer recycled polyester, and has a PFOA-free SR finish. Jigsaw is bleach cleanable and can withstand 100,000 double rubs on the Wyzenbeek scale.

Lexicon
A bold perspective on the interplay of shape, tactility, and dynamic hues, our durable Lexicon pattern’s solution-dyed yarns ensure performance and longevity in high-traffic spaces. Offered in five colorways, Lexicon is bleach cleanable and can withstand 100,000 double rubs on the Wyzenbeek scale.

Meraki Stripe
A modern take on a classic menswear stripe, Meraki Stripe mingles twelve distinct colors of yarn  to create each  unique colorway. An elegant stripe for those who want more than just, Meraki Stripe’s solution-dyed, bleach-cleanable yarns create memorable and lively combinations that can withstand 100,000 double rubs on the Wyzenbeek scale.

Prismatic
Prismatic is a geometric pattern in which the use of shade and shape create a rhythm of faceted, stacked forms. Offered in seven complementary colorways, Prismatic is made of 50 percent recycled nylon and plush chenille yarns. It is bleach cleanable and can withstand up to 90,000 double rubs on the Wyzenbeek scale.

Orenda Plaid
A stunning, oversized pattern, Orenda Plaid is a joining of interweaving elements. Orenda Plaid creates a big impact for a soft space through the combination of a soft bouclé with lustrous twist yarns. Woven in Italy, this finish-free pattern is available in four colorways and can withstand 100,000 double rubs on the Wyzenbeek scale.

Acapella
Inspired by classic tweeds but woven with pops of bright contemporary color, our bleach cleanable fabric Acapella is the perfect harmony of form and function.  It has an added PFOA-free stain resistant finish and can withstand 100,00 double rubs on the Wyzenbeek scale.  

Indoor/Outdoor 

Pinwheel
A subtle play of five nuanced, neutral colorways set the stage for a dimensional boucle yarn to create a highly textural pattern for Pinwheel. Utilizing Bella-Dura solution-dyed performance yarns, Pinwheel is suitable for both indoor and outdoor environments, and can withstand up to 100,000 double rubs on the Wyzenbeek scale. This bleach-cleanable fabric has a PFOA-free finish and is also mold and mildew resistant.

Shoreline
Influenced by the expanding forms of ripples in water, Shoreline is a matelasse construction accentuated by vivid pops of stitched color that highlight its underlying structural geometry. Woven with bleach-cleanable, solution-dyed Bella-Dura yarns, Shoreline comes in 12 colorways and delivers lasting performance for both inside and out. The no-finish fabric can withstand up to 100,000 double rubs on the Wyzenbeek scale and is mold and mildew resistant.

Zest
Complex in construction, Zest is woven with three interlocking novelty boucle yarns in a deflected weave to create a hand-woven sensibility. Zest is offered in six colorways and made up of durable Bella-Dura solution-dyed yarns that allow prolonged exposure to high-traffic applications—indoors and out. Finish-free and bleach-cleanable, Zest is also mold and mildew resistant.
