The Pava Bistro Table, designed by Jill Salisbury of el: Environmental Language, features a graceful, well-crafted design that was developed with sustainability in mind. Using palm wood from the coconut industry, the Pava Bistro Table features an elegant starburst tabletop that presents a resourceful use of materials. After approximately 80 years, palm trees stop producing their fruit ¦in this case, the coconut. At this time, the palm trees are generally cut down and discarded. By taking the palm wood out of the waste stream, Ms. Salisbury has found a beautiful design solution. The palm wood itself expresses its rich, textural grain as the centerpiece of the Pava Bistro Table. Other materials used in the table are walnut, culled from sustainably managed forests, and a finish that is non-toxic and derived from tree sap.
