Substrate, an intuitive new material for the floor plane by Tandus Centiva, was developed with the Japanese concept of Wabi-Sabi in mind. This concept of perfect imperfection has resonated with Suzanne Tick and Terry Mowers for many years. In 2007 they came across a scrim material combined with recycled backing at a finishing plant at Tandus, which perfectly embodied the tenants of Wabi-Sabi. Appreciating the beauty of this natural looking yet man-made material, they were determined to develop a new flooring product featuring this aesthetic. Substrate is a durable luxury vinyl tile that brings the look of textile scrim to the floor in an enduring format that will delight people with its unique look of perfect imperfection.
