Tonina by Allermuir

Gold Award
Allermuir U.S. is launching an edgy and colorful stackable indoor/outdoor molded plastic chair for numerous applications during NeoCon® 2013 June 10-12. Called Tonina by Allermuir, this molded plastic chair was designed with a distinctive architectural flair and comes in an array of colors.Tonina can be previewed June 10-12 in the Allermuir showroom at 3-123 the Merchandise Mart, where all of the Allermuir introductions and enhancements will be displayed.Tonina was inspired by fluid shapes in nature, created by Italian design duo Claudio Dondoli and Marco Pocci and is manufactured by leading edge technology. This striking, stackable and 100 percent recyclable chair combines contemporary design with an incredible finish, as well as comfort and durability. Its unique smooth finish and fluid, elegant shape is created through an innovative manufacturing process known as the Biomimetic Method in which material is injected at high pressure into a steel mold to create an outer skin so smooth, the finish appears almost lacquered, and an inner structure with exceptional strength. The end product is beautifully simple, strong and distinctive. Indoors and outdoors, it can be used as a café, bistro or dining chair in both the corporate and hospitality markets, and is also durable enough to stand up to the rigors of education and training environments. Claudio Dondoli and Marco Pocci established their studio in 1983 as an industrial planning, design and architecture studio, which from 1989 has been focused exclusively on industrial design. The studio prides itself on delivering the highest quality products, through leading edge technology and the best of Italian design. Challenging convention on design and production methods, Archirivolto believes that great design should be accessible and affordable to as many people as possible.
