Sustainability
Nemschoff is dedicated to sustainable practices throughout our supply chain. Throughout product development, our design decisions ensure that our products perform over extremely long life expectancies and we use replaceable components to maximize the product lifecycle and minimize waste. We recycle our wood scraps to heat our facility. We source components locally reducing fuel consumption during transport. In production, products are assembled with water-based adhesive designed to minimize emissions as well as the impact on the environment. We blanket wrap our furniture to minimize our impact on landfills.

Notes
Offering seating, technology support, lighting, storage, sleeping and work space, Palisade’s thoughtful, integrated features make it easy for guests to interact eye-to-eye with patients, share meals, entertain themselves, check in at the office, and sleep without leaving the patient’s side. Built-in power and USB ports for technology devices let guests stay connected to the outside world while staying near the patient. Integrated features make Palisade highly functional while minimizing its footprint. Components are designed to nest, move, or provide extra functions, such as lighting and storage, by leveraging vertical space. Dedicated outlets ensure that guests can always find a place to plug in. Palisade’s high-resiliency polyurethane foam is supported by a sinuous spring matrix. Frame/arm construction features torsion box structure, epoxy coated metal finishes and structural steel links. Durawrap or Corian surfaces are wear and impact resistant. The intentional gap between the seat and arms/back structure promotes ease of cleanability. Palisade brings a warm, welcoming modernism to healthcare settings. From the way the sofa arms and back wrap the user, to the poetic expression of the tree-like gesture of the coat stand, Palisade communicates its mission in an understated fashion. It quietly expresses a visual softness through materials and details meant to be inviting when both physical and emotional comfort are needed most.
