YB Normal Custom Woodworking is located in Fort Wayne, Indiana. It was founded by Ted Geers in May of 2000. Rapid growth has resulted in a need for additional fabrication space. In December of 2005, YB Normal moved into their new headquarters. The newly constructed facility is almost three times larger than the previous facility.YB Normal's craftsmen are also artists, and contribute significantly in designing their client's projects. Their specialty is designing and building “Functional Art”. Furniture that is absolutely unique and innovative, yet functional and durable. They work closely with interior designers and architects to help them create very special; custom reception desks, board room tables, executive offices, home offices, bars, and much more, that is exactly right for their clients. Hardwoods, veneers, laminates, metals, glass, 3form, and more, make up the list of materials used to fabricate their unique furniture.Wood finishes play an important part of completing a custom furniture project. YB Normal uses only the finest Italian conversion polyurethane and polyester finishes. They make all of their own stains and color matches. Colors range from white to black; “normal” wood stains, to electric Corvette blue, purple, red, mother of pearl, or anything else designers can imagine.Designers or architects are encouraged to e-mail, fax or mail their drawings of furniture specifications to YB Normal for a price quote, or call if they would like design input.
