The Reo Lounge chair is a bold design by Swiss designer Michael Steffenhagen, intended to showcase the usage of natural materials in an inventive way. Its horizontal lines were inspired by the ocean, with layers of waves leading to the horizon. Made from natural rattan, woven in a sophisticated flat style, the piece has strong contemporary lines. The Reo comes in two finishes (natural and espresso) and an ottoman is also offered. Customization options are limitless ‚¬â€œ the customer can choose from one of Selamat's select series of fabrics, or can take advantage of the company's new C.O.M. (customer's own material) offering. The Reo is best suited for indoor use ‚¬â€œ in a casual setting such as a sun room or den. It can be customized for contract projects -- with outdoor flow-through foam cushions and Sunbrella fabric for use on a covered porch . But since it is made with natural rattan, it should not be left directly outdoors.
