The Museum of Modern Art illustrated the allure of industrially manufactured objects during its 1934 exhibit “Machine Art organized by architect Phillip Johnson. The exhibition recognized the raw beauty in objects created without artistic intention.Intrigued by the Machine Art exhibit, Shaw Hospitality Group Design Studio toured manufacturing plants and industrial buildings. With an imaginative eye and plenty of photographs and sketches, they uncovered the artistic beauty in common machinery. The result became Factory, the latest tufted carpet collection.Just as the Machine Art exhibit exemplified industrial beauty, Factory reflects the abstract and geometric beauty of manufacturing facilities. This collection offers a unique approach to design by combining the sharp intricacies of machinery with the soft flow of kinetic rhythm.Shaw Hospitality Group offers more than 288 solution dyed colors for Factory, a tufted carpet collection for guest rooms and public spaces. The Factory Collection is comprised of 16 chic patterns which translate manufacturing components and repeated engineered shapes into designs that are as beautiful as they are environmentally responsible.
