Located within the down town area in the city of Hong Kong, 'Club F1' is a newly established dance club label. It occupies 2 original cinema house spaces in a newly renovated commercial building and provides facilities like bar, disco and VIP party rooms which can hold musical functions periodically.
The project aimed to create an illusionary and unique dance place for people to hangout. This was done by adopting design strategies which focus on three major aspects: The Brand, The Space and The Psycho.
Sound wave in the form of curvy & straight lines was chosen as the motif throughout the interior space (e.g. shape of the glowing bar, stage wall-cum-ceiling feature, 4-sided projection / LED screens, transition tunnel, VIP room and reliefs on walls). The super-imposition of various forms of sound wave with different tones of blue light helps to define the brand identity.
Translation of intangible musical elements (e.g. rhythm, tempo and pitch) into tangible spatial elements (e.g.lines, planes, shapes and layers). Spatial rhythm is created by introducing curvy LED wall up to ceiling (Dance Zone) and recti-linear mirror stainless steel lines (Wine Zone). They all aimed at expressing the spaciousness of the 2 zones by generating strong visual guidance from eye level to the 6m high ceilings.
Movement of light/sound/music give life to the space. Adoption of LED envelopes on ceiling, wall & dance floor results in concert-like visual effects throughout the dance zone and generates psycho excitement during performances. Reflective quality of concealed LED light bulbs behind clear smoke glass in VIP room's wall & ceiling gives the illusion of spatial extension inside an enclosed black box.
