Fossil is a series of ink-jet porcelain tile designed by Kasia Zareba, whose original sketches were inspired by the physical impressions left by the grooved, coiled shells of extinct sea creatures called ammonites.
The Fossil Collection has been produced in five hand-drawn patterns, available in 3 colors (Beige, Brown and Grey), that create an optical illusion of depth and serve as a translation of the prehistoric imprints left by plants and animals in rock formations. The shading resembles natural stone, resulting in a modern interpretation of marble.
"In the subtle motifs, one's imagination can see different figures. They bring to mind the regularities of form found in the natural world." - Kasia Zareba
