Use of Salvaged Materials from Construction dump sites to create unique and custom furnishings, fixtures etc.We also used local artisans providing economic opportunities to them and create local jobs. the client had a very low budget and was suffering from economic hardship, instead of denying them the opportunity to get something nice we came up with ways to cut cost, like the use of salvaged materials. We literally, visited dump sites to find material and then came up with the design using what we had on hand. The point was to prove that you don;t need a big budget to go Green, in some case the cost of furnishing was $300 including labor. And yet the quality and uniqueness was maintained. The client was relying on the opening of this business to get out of their financial problems and have been thriving since the opening. We also used most all existing structure and and added only a couple of non-load bearing walls. The emphasis was on Re-USE, Re-USE and less waste. All lighting is LED and yet creates a great ambiance for the retail space. In a neighborhood where most businesses are closing and nobody is willing to invest, this Tenant Improvement and the new business was a great addition.
